Before completing law school, Mr. McGee was called back to service in the Air Force and combat duty in Korea. Soon after finishing law school and returning to Brooksville, he began practicing on the second floor of the Hernando State Bank, next to the office of one of the first Republicans in the county, Clyde Lockhart, grandfather of U.S. Senate candidate Bill McCollum.
