Clifford LeRoy Shangle married, December 14, 1911, Nellie Emens, of Monmouth County, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Mary Emens, of Monmouth Junction. Mr. Emens, who was a native of Monmouth County, was active as a merchant at Monmouth Junction for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Shangle have become the parents of two children: 1. Mary Alice, a graduate of Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York, and the wife of Milton D. Bedell, of Hempstead, Long Island, where he is associated with his father in the fuel business. Mr. and Mrs. Bedell are the parents of a daughter, Penelope Ann. 2. Ruth, a graduate of Skidmore College and a resident of Hightstown. ~ The Story of New Jersey, Vol. IV, pg. 193
