"Clement¹ Quiterfield was an early settler in Colchester, Conn., owning a home lot as early as 1702. At the time of his death in late 1723 according to the inventory of his estate taken 7 Jan. 1723/4 [Hartford Probate District, File #4417, State Library], he owned a 42-acre home lot, two 50-acre lots, 4 acres of meadow and a 44-acre interest in undivided lands for a valuation of £412-0-0. His net personal estate, after deduction of debts, was £87-0-10."
