With this entry of Claus, we have reached as far back as is known about this family. They were probably natives of Venne, which is a village located in the former Prince-Bishopric of Osnabrueck. There are many names of Venne Families included in www.werelate.org pages.

From circa 1830 to 1900, approximately 2,000 residents of Venne migrated to the USA. They located in many cities such as Cincinnati, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, St. Louis, Missouri, and many other places. In this project, we are especially interested in those who migrated to Bartholomew and Jackson counties, in INDIANA.

In 2008, Udo Thoerner wrote a fascinating book about these 2,000 former residents of Venne.
