  6. ↑ The coincidence of Samuel and Lucinda ending up in Winnebago County, Illinois, along with Abram and Clarissa Hager, combined with both living in Schoharie County in 1850, strongly suggests they are from the same family, hence the assumption Samuel and Lucinda are her parents. Some records say Clarissa is of Massachusetts, some say of New York. The earliest deed, in 1832, in Schoarie County says the father is of Fulton. The father is from Chester, MA. Clarissa is born 1826. Source:Moore, Charles B. John Moore Family in America, p. 49, covers this family, but does not even show the children in the 1850 census, so its ignorance of Clarissa would appear to be insignificant. It is assumed she was born in Massachusetts but spent most of her childhood in New York, resulting the confusion about her origins.
