Hastings Memorial, p. 66, shows a daughter Clarissa born into this family b. 27 Aug 1797, but says she died 27 Aug 1824 unmarried. No record of this birth seems to exist in Warwick, but if one accepts it, one might suspect the shortness of marriage led to a mistaken impression that she was unmarried, as sometimes such a young bride might be buried with her parents, possibly using the maiden name. However, no gravestone for Clarissa Hastings or Clarissa Bachelor has been found. And although the death dates are close, they are both precise, and different. No resolution of these various discrepancies has been found.
