Skowhegan, Nov 23---The death of Mrs. Clara Emerton Whitney, 79, wife of Mellen Whitney, occurred at the home of her son, Joel Whitney, Bloomfield street, Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Whitney came here from Madison two months ago. She was born in Moscow, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Graves Emerton. The remains were taken Sunday to the home of another son, Raymond Whitney, in Bingham. The funeral takes place at the home of Raymond Whitney, Monday afternoon, with Rev. Arthur R. MacDougal Jr., officiating; burial in Bingham. |
