Will dated 5 NOV 1733, proved 12 May 1736. Lancaster County, Virginia Deed & Will Book 13, p. 9. Names wife Elizabeth, sons Anthony Kirk (land on North side Col. John Carter’s mill) and James (a gun). Estate to be divided equally wife and children. Wife to have management of the estate during her widowhood “who I desire to bring up my children” and at her death or marriage, John Steptoe to be guardian of the children. Witnesses: William Hutchings, William Steptoe.
