(p. 183) 28 May 1783 [p. 240 orig. book] Between William HOOVER & Christopher & Susanna Houts of County of Shenandoah to John HOOVER of same county...200 pounds...land on North River of Shanandoah...part of large tract of 146 acres granted to Christian Bowman decd by deed frm Proprietors office 17 Nov 1752 and Jacob Bowman eldest son and heir at law of said Christopher Bowman decd conveyed same to Abraham Kendrick who conveyed same to Christopher Houts by deed of L&R May 1775...who conveyed 26 acres of said land to William HOOVER nad now said William HOOVER and Christopher Houts do convey said 26 acres together with 3 acres more out of the remainder of Houts' tract...in Archibald Ruddels line...
