(1) The enumerator spelled the family surname COPLAND, rather than the usual family spelling of COPELAND. (2) Hannah and Christina were given the surname Hall rather than Turner. (1) The enumerator spelled the family surname COPLAND without the "e" that was normally included. (2) Thomas has been enumerated as a Copland, rather than a Turner (or Hall), and considered to be born in Ontario. (3) Hannah and Christina were given the surname Hall rather than Turner used previously. This may indicate their mother's independence from her parents now that she is married.

According to other records Christina should have been 62 in 1916 and she immigrated in 1860 or 1861. Frances Lyle was born in 1878 and her age should have been 38. Annie Arnold was born in 1880 and her age should have been 36. There is no reference to Harry Lyle, husband of Frances Lyle, and he cannot be found anywhere else in this census. Was he omitted in error?
The family had previously stayed in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, and returned to Toronto in late 1916.

- The birthdates required in the 1901 census provided information for those people born before civil registration started in 1869 and for emigrants to Canada. Christina's birthday is taken from this to be 12 August, but the year reported has to be in error. She would only have been 16 at her marriage had she been born in 1857. It also does not fit with her age in the 1861 census.
