Chloe L. Wells, 91, of Co. Rd. 41, Helena, OH, died on Tuesday afternoon, July 17, 2001, at the home of her grandson near Tiffin, OH. She was born on May 3, 1910, to Denman and Mary E. (Purtee) Knepper in Jerry City, OH. She was raised from age 8 by Rollie and Mattie (Brough) Ames. She was a homemaker and farmwife, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, and the Farm Bureau. On September 7, 1933, she married Norman E. Wells in Curtice, OH, and he survives. Also surviving are daughters, Genniel Steinmetz of Helena, Ruth Davies of Gibsonburg; sons, Rollind Wells and Leonard Wells, both of Helena; fifteen grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by sisters, Mae Rosendale, Ida Knepper; brothers, Ralph Knepper, Orrie Knepper; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Shiloh United Methodist Church, Helena, OH, where the body will lie in state one hour before the service. Friends may call at the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home in Gibsonburg Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery in Gibsonburg. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Church or References
