PHILLIPS---Chester A. Fairbanks, 90, died Sunday morning at Franklin County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient one day.
He was born in Phillips, Dec. 16, 1882, the son of Charles and Amelia Hewey Fairbanks. He attended Phillips schools and had lived here all his life. Mr. Fairbanks was a skilled carpenter and lumberman. His wife, the former Mildred Kinney, died in 1952.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Elinor Mackley, Machias, Mrs. Lillian Huff, Kennebunk, Miss Glenice Fairbanks, Phillips, and Miss Roberta Fairbanks, Farmington Falls; a son, Richard of East Wilton; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Bean, Phillips; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A son Lt. Hartley Fairbanks, was a World War II casualty. |
