"220. Lt. Charles4 Wolcott (Mary3 Chester, Sarah2, Gov. Thomas1), born 3 September 1681 in Windsor, Connecticut (Barbour citing Col. D:51, VR 1:38); and died 20 July 1754 in East Windsor (now South Windsor), Connecticut, at age 72 (Barbour citing VR 2:279), buried in the Old South Windsor Cemetery, South Windsor, Connecticut (Hale 51). He married on 19 December 1706 in Windsor, Connecticut (Barbour citing VR 2:207), Elizabeth4 Hawley (#101), daughter of Samuel Hawley and Mary Thompson, his second cousin, born 30 March 1687 in Stratford, Connecticut (Barbour citing LR 2:481a); and died on 3 November 1765 at age 78 according to her gravestone in the Old South Windsor Cemetery, South Windsor, Connecticut (Hale 51).
Three of their first four children died within twelve days of each other. In total, only one of their seven children was still alive when her parents died, Mary, and she is the only one who left issue.
The will of Charles Wolcott of the town of Windsor, dated 20 June 1751 and proved 23 September 1754, gives all his real and personal estate to his wife Elizabeth; she is nominated as executor; witnesses were Roger Wolcott, Alexander Wolcott, Jr., and Marian Wolcott (Hartford Probate District, Connecticut Estate Files, docket no. 6162). The widow Elizabeth
Wolcott did not leave an estate in the Hartford Probate District."
