This Deposition was filed by him in support of the application of Fred H. Ladd to join the Massachusetts Chapter of the S.A.R.

"I, Charles W. Tucker, of North Andover in the county of Essex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, being duly sworn on oath depose and say that on a certain day in August 1894, my grandfather Simon Wardwell of Andover in said County of Essex, gave me the following facts which I record in my diary of that year as he gave them to me; He said that his father, Eliakim Wardwell was born in the year 1778, the son of Simon Wardwell of Andover who was born in 1752; that the said Simon Wardwell went in an Andover Company to the Battle of Bunker Hill and was also in the battle of Long Island." 20 February 1942
