1907 he was a cook; 1910 a cook in a restaurant; 1917 unemployed cook; 1930 and unemployed cook; 1931 a baker. June 5 - July 15 1907 he was in the Army, Sig C Co. I at Ft. Hocum NY. On Dec 29 1918 he completed draft card in Lock Haven, Clinton Co. PA. He was single and occupation was unemployed cook and his residence was 314 N. Rose Kalamazoo MI. He indicates 2 years military experience. He felt he was exempt from draft for physical reasons. On Dec. 30 1931 he tried to cross the border from/into Canada at Buffalo NY, but it appears it was rejected. He was traveling alone, was a baker, 43 years old and address was RR#3 Kalamazoo MI. Ted Hosler did not like him and said he would disappear and reappear at his mother's house.

  2. His birth month/day consistently appears as Sept. 15. The year 1880 appears on death record; the year 1887 appears on draft card but on Sept. 30 1887 his mother gave birth to a stillborn baby. The year 1888 could be calculated from 1910 census, his rmy enlistment and a border crossing attempt.
