My 4G Aunt Nancy Harbert married Elisha Rigdon, brother of a Charles Rigdon in Madison Co, Ohio and I have just returned from the Court House there. For Charles, I found nothing in Probate listed (marriage back to 1810, birth & death 1867, Probate 1820). 1810-70 Land Records for Charles had listings in Grantees for 1840,42,44,45,46,49,50. The 42 was land sold to Edward Rigdon. The History of Madison County 1915 (there is a 1883 edition with the same info, different pages) had 3 listings p741 The Bales Family; Julia Ann Rigdon , daughter of Charles and Lydia Mitchell Rigdon, married Calvin Bales 10/19/1843. p158:Charles listed as eairly settler in Madison Co 1820-21. p297 Charles a member who started Tradersville,Fletcher East, Methodist Episcopel Church at school house 1838. Ancestry.com has Charles 1806-1885, Lysia 1805-1879, his father John Rigdon born abt 1770 KY and some has mother Elizabeth Lamb. You will have to play with these names and dates to see if they fit the Charles Rigdon you are looking for.

    CHARLES RIGDON, 30, b. abt 1820 in Kentucky, is listed as HOH. Lydia is listed as 45. Comparing to 1860 census, it appears that Charles's DOB & age are incorrect. Others line up with 1860 census (Lydia, Sarah Jane & Miranda). RC is assuming this Charles was b. abt 1801 in Kentucky, per 1860 census, and that this is the same Charles Rigdon listed on Find A Grave with a DOB as 1806.
