Charles RADER
Facts and Events
Name Charles RADER
Gender Male
Birth[1] Prussia Of Germany
Marriage to Susan DAWSON
Death[2][3] Kentucky
  • 1850 Hart Co Census lists Charles' age at 72
  • Charles middle name was Carl or Karl.
  • Charles is buried on the East side of Hwy 1140 on part of his old farm property at the end of Childress Rd in Munfordville, Ky. His actual homestead is across Hwy 1140.
  • Looks like he was born in 1778 and married in 1796. That means he was only 18 when he married. And the story goes, he came over to avoid the draft. So he must have come over from 1794 - 1796. I have been searching for ships from Germany during that period but no luck so far. His being so young makes one suspect he did come with a brother as I've been told. (Jayne Page) *May have had a sister in Germany.
  • Kentucky Land Grants

Charles Rader was granted 100 acres in 1831. Then Alfred was granted land of 100 acres each in the following years: 1843, 1852, 1853, and in 1867 he was granted 105 acres. This was getting to be a sizable little farm. Then J.D. Rader was granted a 100 acres also......could this be Jeff or Jerry? (Jane Patterson)

  • By several accounts Susan died in 1851, before her mother, Nancy who died in 1852. Charles dies in 1861 at 82 years of age...conjecture only at this point. (Jane Patterson)
