"Charles "Charlie" Molloy Obituary," The Gazette, 5 Sep 2013.

Charlie Molloy departed this earth to join the love of his life, Betty, on August 31, 2013.

He was born August 10, 1926 to Ellen Rock Molloy and Charles Sr. in Boston, Massachusetts. He has been preceded in death by his parents, only sister, Ann and beloved wife Betty L. Molloy.

His life and generous heart will carry on through: daughter, Patti Molloy Pierce, her husband Ron and grandson Sean Coker, wife Liz and great granddaughter Addison and granddaughter Shannon Coker; daughter Kathi Molloy Owen and her husband Larry and son Michael Charles Molloy as well as dozens and dozens of extended family and friends.

After serving in World War II, Charlie spent many years in the Chicago area, where he and Betty raised their family. In 1982 after a very prosperous career, he attained a lifelong dream of owning his own business and purchased McConnell's True Value Hardware Store and moved to Colorado Springs. He and his family spent the next 19 years serving the community's hardware needs as well as supporting many local District 11 schools and community organizations through his philanthropic deeds. In 2008 he, son Mike and Chuck Schweiss opened Betcha Liquor. Charlie was a member of the Colorado Springs Executives Association and a life-long Elk with the Hudson Massachusetts Order.

In his moments away from the store, he enjoyed fishing, hockey and his beloved Boston Red Sox. We will forever cherish his devotion to family and serving the Lord.

Celebration of Life Mass will be, Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree CSC 80917.

Memorial donations may be made in Charlie's name to the District 11 Foundation, 1115 N. El Paso, CSC 80903.
