"Charlie was Mick's younger brother; he used to come to visit his relatives in the Brechin area quite often. Since he moved to the Rochester area in the U. S. he was able to travel as far north as Brechin to stay in touch with his family. He was always rather poor and had a bunch of kids. He was not very religious. Once he became quite angry at a priest. The priest would only come to the aid of his extremely sick child if Charlie would rent a horse and buggy for him to come out to the farm. The child lived, but the incident did nothing to endear Charlie to the Church.

Over the years Charlie's brothers in the AuGres Area seemed to have lost touch with Charlie and his children. The present day McLeans seem to have never heard of Charlie.
