This is NOT the Charles McClung that married Charity Vandal, that was a first-cousin of this Charles McClung. U.S. Census records in 1820, 1830 & 1840 show that this Charles McClung, born in 1782 could NOT have been the Charles McClung that married Charity Vandall and migrated to Warren and Edmonson County, Kentucky. In addition, William "Grandfather Billy" McClung (1738-1833) did NOT name a son named Charles in his will (or any heirs of his son Charles), which also points to his son Charle's likely death before his will was written, with no likely heirs. At just age 22 when he died in 1805, this Charles McClung would have been the likely candidate to be the one whose estate was settled in Greenbrier County, as listed below:
