    Charles Henry Hancock, 79, of Huber Heights, died early Saturday morning (May 25, 2002) at the Integrated Health Services in Huber Heights. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Turner Hancock. They were married Nov. 18, 1949, in Xenia.

    Mr. Hancock was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Hillsboro, son of the late John H. and Madge Edith Day Hancock. He had retired after 40 years of service as a dietitian for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 526 in Fairborn, a member of the Church of Revelation and attended the Faith Tabernacle in Xenia.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Charles Michael (Debbie) Hancock of Huber Heights, Richard Allen Hancock of Huber Heights, Thurman (Christy) Hancock of Huber Heights and Donald Eugene (Rita) Hancock of Dayton; a stepson, Larry J. (Lenora) Banks of Columbus; four daughters, Sandra Beth Hancock and her fiance Greg of Moraine, Sondra (Vince) Brown of Huber Heights, Charma Ann Hancock and her fiance Tony of Columbus and Charlotte (Frank) McClain of Huber Heights; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Glenn of Xenia and Venus Jackson of Wilmington; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Ervin Hancock and Harold Day; and three sisters, Christine Turner, Edith Rockhold and Lula Mae Woody.
