  11. The birth date 11 Sep 1799 is seen many places but no such record is found and sources are not given. Further, his parentage, claimed to be Oliver Gragg and Alice Ditson, appears incorrect, as he is not named in Oliver Gragg's probate (Suffolk Probate 36225, see particularly this page which lists the heirs). He is called son in Alice Gragg's will (Middlesex Probate 32981, will here, here is the discharge of the mortgage bequeathed to him Vol. 936, p. 324, here is the original mortgage Vol. 775, p. 219) so most likely he was an illegitimate son of Alice who was adopted by Oliver after their marriage 3 years later.
