The identity of the Charles Dickey who married Ilva DeVoe is uncertain (see Ancestry Public Tree comment from the tree owner), but reasonable. In the 1930 census, Ilva's husband gave his birth place as Nebraska. This Charles Dickey's family was in Nebraska by the 1910 census, so he (or his wife, if she provided the census data) might not have been aware that he was born in Iowa.
