    [18] Charles Lynch Adams was the son of Robert Adams and his wife Penelope Lynch, a sister of Colonel Charles Lynch. Charles Lynch Adams married a sister of Thomas and Edward Tunstall, and daughter of Thomas Tunstall of Pittslyvania County. The following entries were found in a Bible Dictionary belonging to Shubal P. Barnard:
    - "Charles Lynch Adams died on Saturday 21st of April, 1804, in the 52nd year of his age.
    - Charles L. Adams (Jr.) was born July 24, 1782.
    - Penelope Adams was born Aug. 4, 1788.
    - Sarah C. Adams was born Dec. 13, 1789.
    - Elizabeth Adams was born December 5, 1792.
    - Mildred Adams was born Aug. 23, 1794.
    - Thomas T. Adams was born June 2, 1796.
    - Robert Adams was born Aug. 1, 1800.
    - Elizabeth T. Adams was born April 10, 1768." A portrait of this venerable old lady hangs at "Monteflora" the home of her great grandson Henry Ward Adams.
