    Cesaire Prud’Homme was born on 27 Sep 1817 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. He was christened on October 12, 1818 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Natchitoches Parish. He died in Januaary 1869 at Gravel Point, “Frierson,” in DeSoto Parish. Cesaire Prud’Homme was married to Marie Louise Bouet Lafitte on April 21, 1838 in Caddo Parish (Prior to the creation of DeSoto Parish in 1843). Marie Joseph Lafitte’s father was Francois Manuel Bouet Lafitte (1799-1844). Her mother was Marie Salom’e Procella (?-1863). Both Cesaire Prud’Homme and Marie Louise Bouet Lafitte are believed by the families to be buried in Old Gravel Point Cemetery. The couple had eleven children. Of them, four have unknown burial sites, four are buried in St. Francis Cemetery on Friendship Road in DeSoto Parish, one is buried in St. Catherine Cemetery in the village of Noble, Sabine Parish, Louisiana, and one is buried in St. Ann Cemetery, in the town of Stonewall in DeSoto Parish. The ninth child born to the couple, Joseph Alexis Prud’Homme was born about 1858 and died about 1881. He is believed by the families to be buried in Old Gravel Point Cemetery.
