"Sam" Steed, 82, of Shannondale, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at his home. Born July 4, 1921, in Clinton, Utah, he was the son of the late Ezra and Eva Steed. He was employed by Sperry Univac Industries in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years. He was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church. He had been a member of Shannondale Club LTD. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eunice E. "Stormy" Wynn Steed; two daughters, Cheryl V. Joines of Greensboro, N.C., and Eva S. Taintor of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Keith Steed of Sunset, Utah; two grandchildren; and one nephew. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, William Black Medical Building, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032; or the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
