Catherine Myers, widow of the late Jacob Myers departed this life July 26, 1884 aged 91 years, 9 months and 25 days. Deceased was born in Davidson Co., North Carolina. On Oct 1, 1792. She was married to Jacob Myers 1809 with whom she lived as companion and helpmate until 1870 when she was left a widow. She was the mother of 10 children of whom 6 survive her. She left 41 grandchildren and 131 great grandchildren and 18 great, great grandchildren. In the year of 1811 she, with her husband, removed to what is now Harrison Co, Indiana but owing to the Indian War and the War of 1812, they returned to the Old North State again. Again in 1829, in the month of November, they started on another trip to Indiana and landed the first days of Feb. 1830 and pitched tents about 3 miles northeast of the Narrows of Sugar Creek. After remaining in Camp 7 days they removed to Jackson Township, Fountain County, settling on the same lot of land and in the same yard where she breathed her last breath. The remains were interred in the Lutheran Cemetery, of which church she was almost a life-long and consistent member. Peace unto her ashes.
