Facts and Events
The contents may have been sent per the instructions of Frederick C. Moore (1877-1964 ) upon his death. He had no known survivors. This presumption is supported by a note Myra Banta Nelson wrote on a sheet of family history to the effect that, "Fred Moore has the family Bible." However, the boxes arrived many years after his death, and were sent from Los Angeles, rather than Arizona, where he died. It seems likely that at Fred's death, his effects were given to Catherine Liggett Barr (1899-1985 ), his niece, who lived in the Los Angeles area. Upon her death in 1985, the Liggett materials perhaps were added and the whole collection sent to Fred Banta. The Liggett sisters were very close to Myra and Charles; one of the sisters rented an apartment from them on Catalina St. in Los Angeles. 2. According to Prston's grandson, Preston Barr IV, Preston and Catherine lived first on Rampart St, Los Angeles, then bought a home in El Monte. References
