In Alfred, N. Y., Oct. 2, 1864, of typhoid fever, Mrs. Catherine D. Williams, wife of Thomas Williams, and mother of Rev. Thos. R. Williams, aged 59 years, 3 months, and 19 days. Sister W. was brought up by Universalist parents, but soon after her marriage, (about forty-one years ago,) she professed religion, and united with the Clarence Church. About fifteen years ago, having removed to Alfred, she united with the Second Alfred Church, of which she remained a faithful member till called to join the church triumphant. Her life was an ornament to the Christian religion, and her death more than ordinarily triumphant. She leaves a husband and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." N. W.
