Hi,
We are researching a particular Heaton family of Harwood Lee, Bolton.
James Heaton married Elizabeth Howarth 17 August 1803 at St Peter's
Bolton. They lived in Harwood Lee and James was a weaver.
Amongst their children were John born 1806 and Richard Howarth Heaton
born 1811. They were tried together for the same crime at Salford
Quarter Sessions in April 1832 and both were transported to NSW
Australia.
John left behind a wife - Catherine Booth and three children, Elizabeth,
Alice & James.
Richard married in NSW to Jane Dawson and raised a large family in the
Hunter Valley. He became a respectable pioneer and Heaton State Forest,
Mt Heaton and Heatonville school were all named after Richard & his
family.
We would love to hear from anyone researching the same family.
