Catherine "Katy" Cook of Lynden, went to be with her Lord at her home on Thursday, Nov. 11. She was 81. Katy was the daughter of Samuel and Tillie (Dykstra) Adema and was born in Pease, Minnesota on August 29, 1923. On March 25, 1942 she was married to Cornelius "Neal" Cook in Milaca, Minnesota and in 1947 they moved to Lynden. A home maker, Mrs. Cook was a Charter Member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and canning. She is survived by her children James and wife Gaylen Cook of Ferndale, Theresa Gustafson and Kathleen Nickerson of Lynden, Sharon and husband Ray VanCleve of Phoenix, AZ. and Barbara and husband Terry Veltkamp of Buckley, WA.; seventeen grand and nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers Jake and John Adema in Arizona; sisters Alice Slater, Cordella Adema and Ethel Haaks all in Minnesota and numerous other relatives. She was also preceded by a sister and two brothers. References
