Mrs. J.M. Payne Dead
Mrs. J.M. Payne died at the residence of her husband, near town, Monday evening last. Mrs. Payne had long been in delicate health, and weeks of lingering illness preceded the summons which called her home. She was a most excellent christian wife, mother, friend and neighbor, and her death is most keenly regretted by those who knew her best. To her aged husband who mourns his irreparable loss, and to the sons sorrowing over the death of a devoted mother, the warmest sympathy of the community goes out.
Funeral services were held at Mr. Payne’s residence in the country yesterday evening, after which the remains were interred in the Odd Fellows cemetery here.
