Mrs. Carrie Bacon Smith was born near Galesburq, Michigan and passed away at her home in the Village of Milton, Monday morning, March 20, at six o'clock.
August 28, 1867, she was united in marriage to Colin A. Smith, who preceded her in death, November 17, 1891.
She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. R. R. Skinner, of Washington D. C, and Mrs. H. L. Greene, of Milton; and by four grandchildren. Also by three sisters; Mrs. Julia Cooper, of Milwaukee, Mrs. L. C. Baker, of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, and Mrs. Wilmer Dodd, of Pipestone, Minnesota, and by one brother, Mr. C. C. Bacon, of Waunakee, Wisconsin.
She was ministered to during her last days by her daughters and kind neighbors and friends.
The funeral services were held from her home Wednesday at half past one o'clock, the Rev. F. H. Burdick, Pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. Appropriate music was rendered by members of the Congregational Choir. Burial was in the Milton Cemetery.
A good friend and neighbor has gone and the community will miss her. Her literary attainments were considerable and served to make her cheerful in spite of her invalid condition of some years. She expressed herself as resting in the finished work of the Savior, and was willing to depart and be at rest.
