Carlton L. Cousino, 97 years, of Temperance, MI, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, in the Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. Born May 23, 1906, in Temperance, MI, he was the son of Adolph and Lydia (Dezelle) Cousino. Carlton married his former wife, Lulu McQuade on Sept. 6, 1932, and then married Dorothy Heninger on July 13, 1983. He was a self-employed farmer all his life on the farm that the family has owned since 1836. He also was employed by Champion Spark Plug and the former Bahman Oldsmobile in Toledo. He was a member on the Blissfield Sugar Beet Growers Board for 18 years and delivered meals on wheels 8 years for the Bedford Senior Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; sons, Carlton Cousino Jr. of Erie, MI, Roland "Ron" (Carmen) Cousino of Temperance, MI and Dennis Cousino of Ottawa Lake, MI; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Cousino of Temperance, MI; step daughters, Diane (James) DeCant of Temperance, MI and Darlene (Mark) DeBruine of Goldsboro, North Carolina; brother, Adolph (Shirley) Cousino, Jr. of Toledo; sister, Cecil (Paul) McClellan of Toledo; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, 1 grandson, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman), Temperance, MI, where scripture services will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where he will lie in state after 9:30 a.m. Fr. Thomas Byrne, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, MI.
