    Friday, 12 Jan 1951, Section 1, page 2CALVIN S. SCHAFFERCalvin S. Schaffer, 59, of Sumneytown, died Sunday in Allentown Hospital. He had been in failing health for he past two months and a hospital patient since December 31. Born in Sumneytown, he was a son of the late William and Maria (Schwoyer) Schaffer. He worked as a presser at the Sumneytown Clothing factory until he became ill the past Fall. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, Sumnetown. Surviving are his widow, Bertha B. (Houck) Schaffer; two sons, Earl and Laverne, both of Sumneytown; four sisters, Mrs. Sallie Walter, of Sumneytown; Mrs. Mary Fox, of Bechtelsville, R. D., and Mrs. Thomas Breyer and Mrs. John Breyer, both of Green Lane, R. D. Two grandchildren also survive. Services were held Wednesday from the Benner Funeral Home, Red Hill, followed by further services in St. John's Lutheran church, Sumneytown, with the Rev. E. L. Angstadt, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Director T. H. Benner, Red Hill, had charge of the arrangements.
