Calvin Gunn, father of Samuel M. Gunn, was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield, and the active period of his life was devoted to general farming. His death occurred in 1812. He married Betsey Markham, who was a native of New Hartford, Connecticut. She survived her husband many years, dying in 1850. Their children were Betsey, Gideon, Samuel M., Calvin and Emily. ...
