About Calvin Cowgill

Politically Cowgill was a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1878 he was in the eleventh electoral district of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC elected, where he succeeds on March 4, 1879 James La Fayette Evans took. Since he resigned in 1880 to run again, he was only one term in until March 3, 1881 Congress completed.

After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives Calvin Cowgill resumed the practice as a lawyer. He died on 10 February 1903 in Wabash. He was interred in Falls Cemetery.
