Calvin Preston Burns has went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2014 after losing his fight with cancer. He was Born on January 17, 1930 in Auburn, Nebraska to Vigil and Erma (Barnett) Burns. In 1937 Calvin and the family moved to Two Rivers Nebraska where they acquired property to start a farm. Calvin graduated from Valley High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean Conflict during 1951-1953 at the rank of Corporal. After the service he worked several years at Roberts Dairy in Waterloo until it closed. Then worked at AT&T in Omaha until retirement in 1992 with 34 years of service. Calvin married Gloria Vivian Meade in Council Bluff, Iowa on March 5, 1955. From this union they had two children Teri (Burns) Bollacker and Curtis Burns. Preceded in death by parents Virgil and Erma Burns and brother Virgil Alvin Burns. Survived by his wife Gloria of Pueblo Colorado, Daughter and Son-in-law Teri and Jim Bollacker of Springfield NE, Son and Daughter-in-law Curtis and Barbara Burns of Pueblo CO. Sister-in-law Debra Schaap of Omaha NE. Brother-in-law Jim Meade of Scottsdale AZ. Grandchildren Shawn Bollacker, Nicole Bollacker and A.J. Bollacker of Springfield NE and Gabriel Burns of Cheyenne WY. Nieces Cheryl and (Husband)John Ferguson of Fremont NE. and Denise and (Husband) Pat Miller of Columbus NE. Jenny Schaap of Los Angles CA and Nephew Matthew Schaap of Baltimore MD. Calvin was a member the Kingsway Christian Church of Omaha and excepted the Lord in his youth at the age of 13 doing the Lords Will and Leading. Services will be held at Braman Funeral Home with burial at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont NE.
