Caleb settled in Deerfield about 1793. To Hounsfield about 1805. He assisted Gen. Jacob Brown to rally about 100 militia men to reinforce those at Sackets Harbor, Mar 1813. He was Lieut. in Captain Jabez Foster's company, Lt. Col. Abijah Putnam's Jefferson County regt., 1807. In 1811 he was commissioned Liet. in Captain John Adam's company, Lieut.
