"The Harvard class of 1817 ... the name of Caleb Reed will stand conspicuous among all the rest. "He was twice married: first, to Miss Mary C. Minto, who live only four years after their marriage, and left a daughter and son, who are still [1880] living; and afterwards to Miss Ruth Cobb, who survived him more than twenty years. She died in the summer of 1875, and will be well and affectionately remembered by many members of our society."
