    Phillipsport - Burt Sears, a retired member of the New York City Mounted Police, and a native of Phillipsport, died Friday at the Municipal Sanatorium, Otisville.

    Mr. Sears, who had lived in Phillipsport a number of years, was born January twenty-second, 1888, a son of Isaac and Lanah Scott Sears. After several years in the New York Police Department he returned to Phillipsport in 1933.

    He was a member of the Methodist Church here and the Masonic Lodge of Ellenville.

    Surviving are his wife, a brother, Daurell, of Summitville, and the following nieces and nephews: Rhea Jensen, Daurell Betts and Francis Utter, all of Middletown; Beatrice Green of Sidney and Clifford Sears of Great Neck, L.I.

    Funeral services will be conducted at the Phillipsport Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Jay O. Warner and the Rev. Seth Craig will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot, Poplar Grove Cemetery, Phillipsport.
