Served under Capt. John Hazen in the expedition against Crownpoint in 1758. Settled in Weare, NH soon after returning form the expedition.

Moved to Deering, NH in 1775 where cleared a lare tract of land and held several town offices.

Moved to Fisherfield (Newbury) NH in 1786 where he purchased several parcels of land and served as selectman and justice of the peace.

Early days of 19th century he along with several of his children moved to Hatley, Quebec, Canada.

He was a man of much energy and was noted for his great wit.

Preformed many marriages in Sutton and may have resided there from time to time.
