    Daughter of William Stephens and Sarah Sanders Stephens, born about 1735. She was the mother of Benjamin Stephens. The identity his father father has been lost in time.

    On 4 July 1773 Blessing married a neighbor, Stephen Smith who was more than 20 years her senior. With him she had Paris Smith and Frances Smith. After Stephen Smith died she went to live in Kenton County, KY with her son, Benjamin.
