    Betty Loughner Long, 90, of Greensburg, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. Born Oct. 22, 1918, in McCullough, she was a daughter of the late Alpheus and Jetty Mae Lydick Loughner. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greensburg, where she served for many years as Cradle Roll superintendent and was a member of the Virginia Boyers class. She was a 1935 graduate of Sewickley High School, in Herminie, and along with her sister, Aldean, graduated in 1940 from Westmoreland Hospital School of Nursing and was employed by the hospital as a registered nurse. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross in Greensburg. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Burnell M. Long; and two sisters, Virginia D. Loughner and Dorothy Aldean Loughner Griffiths. Betty is survived by a daughter, Karen S. Long, of Morgantown, W.Va.; a son, Donald M. Long and his wife, Patricia, of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Christopher K. Long and his wife, Amy, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tracie M. Long, of Arkadelphia, Ark.; and two brothers, Delmus Loughner, of Greensburg, and Alpheus M. Loughner Jr., of Graford, Texas. She is also survived by two stepgrandchildren, Lance Hartman and his wife, Jessica, and Carrie Derdich and her husband, Jaison; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Nolan Hartman and Avery Derdich, all of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 246 S. Main St., Greensburg. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
