  5. Betsey's lineage has not been ascertained. Betsey Sherman, d/o Moses Sherman of Grafton, has been ruled out, her father's probate in 1846 naming her as Betsey Baker and she m. Thomas Marshall Baker in Grafton. Source:Adams, Andrew N. Genealogical History of Henry Adams, of Braintree, Mass., and His Descendants, p. 533 says Elisha m. Betsey Forbush. The son Elisha's death record gives his mother's maiden name as Forbush, but the son Adams' death record gives her maiden name as Brown, and all records suggest her maiden name was Sherman.
