↑ Ebenezer Slate was older, and so it is likely Bethiah was a widow. Possibly she was the widow of Isaiah Horsley who d. Gill 1804, having a wife and 3 children in the 1800 census (here, last entry). The name of his wife and date of his marriage is unknown. But Bethiah's age is such that she may also have been a spinster?
