Beth Kathryn Hanson, 82, formerly of Mandan, died April 17, 1999, in San Diego, Calif., where she had lived since 1969, when she and her late husband, Harry T. Hanson, retired after more than 30 years of teaching and school administration in the North Dakota public school system.
Mrs. Hanson was born in Edgeley in 1916, attended Valley City State Teachers College, earning an Associate Degree in elementary education and later graduated from Mary College in Bismarck with a bachelor's degree in education. She was active in the Charles Wesley Burns Methodist Church in Mandan, where both she and her husband taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Hanson was a former member of Eastern Star, NDTA and numerous other community activities.
After her husband's death in 1985, she moved to La Jolla, Calif., and was an active member of the La Jolla First Presbyterian Church and travelled extensively.
Beth K. Hanson is survived by her daughters, <names of living individuals have been removed;> her grandchildren, <names of living individuals have been removed;> a sister, <living> and a brother, Robert Croskell, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter, <living.>
Burial was in El Camino Park in San Diego following a memorial service at the La Jolla First Presbyterian Church.
