    NOUWENS, Bessie, age 79 of 113 W. Grover St., Lynden, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 1979. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Nouwens moved with her family to Denver and then to Whatcom County, where she had resided for the past 65 years. A member of the Second Christian Reformed church of Lynden, has also been a member of the Bellingham Senior Citizens Activity Center. She was married to her husband, Adrian in Lynden on April 14, 1927. She is survived by her husband, Adrian; 2 sons, Gerald of Bothell, Preston of Calgary, Alberta; 4 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Ruswick of Custer, Mrs. Gladys Heinrick of Pleasanton, Calif., Mrs. Bernice Yarborough of Freemont, Calif., Mrs. Nellie Knudzen of Lynden; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Pete Brunger of Bellingham; numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Second Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Andrew Cammenga officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery, under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
