    ROCK SPRINGS -- Bernice Mildred Bloss, age 86 of Rock Springs, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center in Reedsburg. Bernice was born on June 11,1917 in North Freedom, the daughter of Gustav and Mildred (Curry) Kleinschmidt. On Sept. 4,1937 she married Ellsworth "Buttons" Charles Bloss in North Freedom. He preceded her in death in July of 1995. Bernice was a cook and teachers aide for the Reedsburg Area School District at the Rock Springs location for over 14 years. She loved to garden and grow flowers. Bernice was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Community Center in Rock Springs, the Ladies Birthday Club and the Lutheran Ladies Aide at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Springs.

    Survivors include four sons, Melvin Bloss of Baraboo, Marvin (Judy) Bloss of Rock Springs, Ken (Kitten) Bloss of North Freedom, Kevin (Josephine) Bloss of Rock Springs; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister-In-law, Lorna Bloss of Baraboo; a brother-In-law, Harvey Gieck of Denzer and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, "Buttons"; a son, Dale Bloss; a sister, Beatrice Gieck and her parents.

    Funeral services will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Springs on Saturday, May 1, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul R. Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be at the Rago Funeral Home in Baraboo on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
