    BAX, Bernardina - "The Lord knoweth them that are His" (2 Tim 2:19b). To our deep sorrow it has behooved the Lord to take out of our midst our loving and caring mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, Bernardina Bax (nee Brouwer) at the age of 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Teunis Cornlius Bax. Loving mother of Simon and Anne of Whitby and Archie and Ria of Brampton. Loving Oma of Elizabeth, Jeff, Michael, Annette and Jonathan and predeceased by Stephanie. Mrs. Bax will be resting at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas St. East, Whitby (905-668-3410) for visitation on Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. No visitation on Sunday. Visitation two hours prior to the Service at the Emmanuel Reformed Church, 401 Rossland, Whitby on Monday, January 24, 1994 at 2 p.m. Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

    Bernardina Bax, formerly of Whitby, died at Holland Christian Home in Brampton on January 20, 1994. She was 82.
    She was born in Waddinxveen, the Netherlands, on April 18, 1911, daughter of Adrianus Johannes and Bernardina (De Groot) Brouwer.
    She married Teunis Cornelis Bax on November 11, 1937.
    A Whitby resident from 1952 to 1991, Mrs. Bax was a registered nursing assistant at Whitby Psychiatric Hospital until he retirement in 1976.
    She was a member of Netherlands Reformed Congregation in MArkham.
    She is survived by her son Simon (and his wife Anna) of Whitby, son Archie (and his wife Ria) of Brampton, grandchildren Wlisabeth, Jeff, Michael, Annette and Jonathon, nephew John (and Mary) Brouwer of Oshawa, two sisters in the Netherlands.
    She was predeceased by her husband in 1960 and grand-daughter Stephanie.
    The funeral service was held at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Whitby, Rev. J.R. Boeke conducting. Interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery.
